General
Weather has been very changeable, daytime temperatures have been ok but
the odd chilly night has sometimes got the following day off to a slow
start. Best producing bait red single maggot over chopped worm. Water
levels good with strong colour.
Pond A
Carp to 8lb from ledgered worm from pegs 3 and 4. Silver fish tending to
keep shy and close to the reeds. Floating pedigree mixer has tempted
several Carp on sunny evenings pegs 6 and 7.
Pond B
The Carp are feeding well with several fish close to the 18lb mark coming
to the net on various rigs. Larger hooks still proving to put the fish
off. Feed lightly and often. Hot peg at present 8. On the pole towards the
island tip at about 9m, fishing red single maggot on an 18 over hemp and
chopped worm. A couple of 100lb nets out with one touching 165lb.
Pond C
Ide and Chub feeding very well on red maggot. Pole proving to be the best
method although strong winds have made it hard work on some days. The bays
producing some good nets of Bream from mid morning to late evening. Feeder
tactics paying off with hemp and worm. Hot pegs 8 and 15. Paste starting
to give better results
Pond D (Match and Residents only)
Fishing rather patchy. Over 50lb of Barbel one day on meat on the pole
from peg 11 at 7m. Ide still giving good sport with some Chub. Tench and
Carp shy at present. Bream still showing a liking for sweetcorn just off
the bottom.
Match Report by Mike Rybakowski
Reports for week ending 11th May 2008.
General
Excellent warm and sunny weather has increased water temperatures and the fish have started feeding with vengance. All ponds catching well, many 'PB's' being broken over the Bank Holiday weekend. Carp looking as if they could be getting ready to spawn in pond B. Water levels normal and colour very good alround.
Pond A
Carp to 8lb from pegs 4 and 7 on floating biscuit. Some good silver fish being taken on the pole from pegs 1 + 2 although small Perch can be a bit of a nuisance. The odd Tench to 4lb being taken on feedered sweetcorn from peg 4.
Pond B
Carp seem to have gone into frenzy mode, taking nearly every type of bait offered. Floating crust or pellet accounting for over 40 doubles for a group of anglers staying with us from Newcastle. Monday proved a great day for Daniel Kelly of Caistor who spotted a shoal of large Carp cruising around the aerator pump in the corner of peg 4 so he dropped his pellet waggler in amongst them and in 2 minutes hooked into a fine 13lb 7oz Common. Danny had plenty of other smaller Carp ranging from 6lb to 11b on the same tacticts from peg 3. Lee Gray tempeted another fine specimen weighing 14lb 9oz on pole fished pineapple pellet, feeding red and white maggot from peg 8. Crucians to 3lb on pole fished white maggot while float fished red worm accounted for some fine Tench upto 4lb from peg 12.
Pond C
Pegs 1-4 producing good nets of Chub and Ide on pole fished caster and maggot, fished tight to the island. Pegs 10 and 11 giving nets of Bream to 30lb on pole fished caster over chopped worm at about 7m. Odd Barbel upto 3lb being caught on small chunks of luncheon meat either on the feeder or pole pegs 8 and 14. Please remember in warm conditions to get the fish back into the water or your net as soon as possible to avoid distress to the fish.
Pond D
The change in water temperature has really worked wonders for results. Alan Spedding from Wakefield had 64lb on Friday fishing maggot at 11m from peg 9. The bag was made up of Bream and Chub to 3lb, Carp and Tench to 2lb with plenty of smaller silver fish. Bill Latto from Tingley fishing peg 10 had over 40lb of mixed fish on pole fished caster.

General
Severe frosts to minus 9 in the early part of the week lead to ice
covering certain areas of all ponds. Weights were well down just like the
number of anglers. Water levels are extremely high with good colouring.
Pond A
Maintenance has been carried out and you are now able to fish all sides.
The reed bed has been reduced in size and the new bank should now make
perfect for catching the Roach and Rudd that can prove to be so elusive.
Pond B
Once again poor results from earlier in the week but with a rise in
temperature towards the weekend the odd better sized fish showing but
still well below average. Maggot or worm on the feeder was favourite from
pegs 5 and 7. Carp to 7lb.
Pond C
The cold weather did not stem the Trouts appetite with some anglers
catching in excess of 30 on a variety of all baits and methods. Open water
in pegs 8-12 proved favourite because the aerator avoided the water icing
over. Odd Chub and Bream to small baits from peg 17. As temperatures
reached 14 degrees on Saturday there were no shortages of fish from the
high number pegs. Bream from peg 17 and 18 on pole fished red maggot over
chopped worm.
Pond D
Good mixed bags from pegs 8-12 on the pole fishing single red or worm. Odd
Barbel falling to ledgered meat fished to the deep hole in the middle.
Saturdays open match had a winning weight of 8lb, this being made up of
Carp and Tench with a few Ide from peg 9.

Weekly Reports w/e 02/02/08
General
Weather conditions have been very poor, with falling temperatures high
winds and heavy rainfall and just a few sunny periods in between. Water
levels are very high with good colouring in all ponds. Backsides sometimes
very slippery so please be careful.
Pond A
Fishing very slow at present with only a few anglers braving the elements.
Roach and Rudd from peg 1 on float fished red maggot. The odd larger Perch
taken from peg 4 on float fished worm. No surface activity.
Pond B
Some reasonable bags of mixed fish from pegs 4-8, pole fished maggot over
chopped worm and pellet seems to be holding the fish. Ledgered worm
accounted for a 3lb plus Perch from peg 7. The odd Barbel and Chub being
caught on pole fished pellet but maggot and worm by far the best baits.
Pond C
The bay producing some good heavy nets, 50-60lb but plenty of Brown Trout
among these. Mostly taken on maggot or worm fished midway on an 18hook.
Pole or feeder producing. Barbel and Chub to 3lb but Skimmers very shy at
present. The aerator seems to be the holding point plus the slightly
deeper water.
Pond D
Mixed reports, some regular anglers are producing 50lb plus whilst others
are being disappointed with 10-15lb. Match Carp still showing with the
newly introduced Tench showing in many nets. Ide to 2lb+ from pegs 7-10.
Pole proving best at about 11m, fishing red maggot over chopped worm and
hemp to a size 18 hook. Feeder to the middle still getting results but
slower than the pole.
General
Reasonable weather for this time of year with good sunny periods and very
little rain. Early morning and evening temperatures have take a slight dip
and this does seem to have slowed the pace down. Water levels and colour
are good.
Pond A
Carp tending to be very shy, Roach and Rudd falling to pole fished maggot
and caster from pegs with good reed cover. Worm accounting for two good
Perch from peg 4 on the feeder with chopped worm. Very little surface
action even on the sunny days.
Pond B
Plenty of Carp from pegs 4 -8. Mainly on the feeder fished tight to the
island. Chopped worm and caster proving to be the best baits at present
although some reasonable Bream have been taken on the pole form peg 1 and
2. On Saturday Dave Willows of Grimsby fished the open match on C pond
without major success, after the weigh in he decided to move to Pond B peg
6. Everyone else on B had been finding it very hard going, within 2 hours
Dave had netted 6 Carp between 3lb - 6lb. Steve Fegan of Caistor had a
good day on the pole from Peg 1 with a good mixed bag of over 50lb. Steve
used a variety of hook baits but fed lightly with chopped worm and caster.
Pond C
Total net weights have dropped with the winning nets on the last
two matches being 10lb and 26lb. The fishing has turned very patchy with
Barbel not showing very much at all. The trout have been keeping many
anglers from dry nets. Once again worm and caster have been favourite with
a few anglers having fair catches on pole fished maggot.
Pond D (Residents only)
The same story here with just a few anglers fishing bigger nets
would be expected. The recently introduced Carp gave C Sampson a
confident match win with 21lb of Carp only, using micro pellet feed and
pellet hook bait.

General
The weather for the fist part of the week has been
nothing special but temperatures and condition greatly improved towards
the backend. Water levels and colouring still very good.
Pond A
Fishing patchy mid day with early morning and evening
producing the better catches although weights are down compared to the
last month. Cap to 5lb from Pegs 3 and 7 with silver fish showing to
maggot on the pole from pegs 1 and 10.
Pond B
Still some double figure Carp showing on still days
from pegs 4 and 7 to caster and worm. Odd Tench to 3lb on float fished
sweetcorn from 19 and 11. Bream keeping their heads down with the odd
Barbel and Chub showing.
Pond C
Some better mixed bags coming out on pole fished baits,
wagglers tending to struggle to reach the island ledges. Bream showing in
the bay with Chub keeping tight to the islands.
Pond D (Residents & Campers Only)
The Barbel seem to have gone on a feeding frenzy with
Alan Spedding of Wakefield with a great 60lb net, so good he did not want
to have to pack up. With over 400 Carp being introduced last week we had
expected them to be on the hungry side but only the odd few being caught.
Silver fish still good sport on the pole with maggot and worm being top
baits.

Report for week ending 23/09/07
Weather rather unsettled towards the end of the week
with some cool early mornings and high winds. In general fishing has not
been too bad but natural baits have proven to be a better solution to the
bigger nets. Water levels very good with good colouring at the moment.
Pond A
Pegs 1 and 2 still giving good nets of silver fish to pole fished red
maggot and worm. Tony Britton of Malton has 4 Common Carp all over 7lb
from peg 4 taken on the waggler fished just off the island with double
sweet corn on a size 14 hook. Not too much surface activity apart from the
odd warm evening but then again the fish did not seem to interested.
Pond B
Carp to 16lb on maggot and worm cocktail, pole fished from peg 4 over a
bed of crushed hemp plus a mixed net of 30lb+ made for a good days fishing
for Andy Grainger from Leicester. Alan Spedding from Leeds won Saturdays
open match with 17lb 9 oz (peg 2 )just beating Stu Read from Grimsby (peg
5 )by 1 ounce with 17lb 8oz, Stu had worked hard all through the match,
his weight was made up of silver fish whilst Alan caught a 6lb Carp in the
dying minutes of the match but that's just how it goes. Dave Willows of
Grimsby (peg 10 ) was third with 15lb.
Pond C
Barbel tending to be rather shy at present. Some good 30lb nets of Chub
coming out of the island pegs on pole fished red maggot. Bream sticking to
the deeper holes in the bay and between the islands. Chub have also seemed
to have come well off the bottom and some anglers are fishing light tackle
only about 1ft deep for nets up to 20lb.
Pond D
Still fishing extremely well with mixed nets to 70lb. Some anglers having
as many as 15 Barbel. All methods producing. Natural baits doing well on
far bank on the pole. Ledgered maggot or worm is proving good out to the
lily pads.

Report for week ending 05/07 General
All ponds fishing very well at present, to most baits. Bigger
fish being taken on soft pellet or maggot. Obviously weather
conditions have been atrocious. Banks have been soggy in places
but in general all pegs are fishable.
Pond A
Large Tench being taken in pegs 2 and 11 to ledgered
sweetcorn. Carp not showing on the top but several to double
fish falling to pole fished double red maggot from peg 5 by Andy
Cross from Malton.
Good nets of Roach and Rudd from pegs 1 and 10 on float
fished maggot tight to the reeds.
Pond B
Peg 20 and 19 still proving to be the hot spots for day
tickets anglers with Carp to 15lb being taken from both on
ledgered pellet and pole fished maggot. Odd Crucian
showing to lightly fished maggot. Some good Tench upto 5lb being
taken on feedered sweetcorn from pegs 5-8.
Pond C
All pegs providing good nets on maggot or pellet. Chub seem
to be feeding just under the surface whilst Bream and Barbel are
on the bottom. Nets up to 60lb of Chub and Bream from pegs 6-8
and 15-17. Once again fish and feed lightly.
Report for week ending 22/06/07
General
Warm but rain, heavy at times. Pole anglers finding things
difficult in exposed pegs on windy days. Spawning seems to have
finished for the time being. Water levels are at maximum
and water colouring is very good.
Pond A
Pegs 2 and 3 have produced Carp up to 8lb on floating mixer
biscuit. Maggot has taken some good sized silver fish up to half
a pound on the float. Tench showing to double sweet corn on the
pole from peg 7 and 8 .
Pond B
Pegs 18-20 all producing well with Carp into double figures.
The pole seems the best option with maggot or worm over chopped
worm. Peg 4 has had some good mixed nets with Carp to 6lb and
Tench to 5lb. Maggot feeder techniques paying off even in still
conditions along pegs 7-11. Crucians starting to feed on
single red maggot.
Pond C
Still producing some good nets up to 50lb, most pegs
producing fish although still some anglers fishing too heavy.
Pole to the island providing some good bags of Chub while the
Bream and Barbel are staying in the deeper holes especially pegs
10-12.
