General
Weather very hit and miss, with the odd frost early mornings, water temperatures fluctuating but on sunnier days some fish feeding off the top.
Pond B
Some anglers managed to get among some bigger fish with more precise methods, feeder boys struggling for anything worth while. Pole fished caster and worm off the bottom produced a few good nets of mixed fish. Pegs 7 & 8 proving most reliable.
Pond C
Similar story here with some dedicated anglers netting upto 50lb of Chub and Ide whilst other just watched floats. The fish were definitley not feeding on the bottom. Tony Taylor from Huddersfield fished peg 14 two days on the trot and had nets in excess of 40lb on both days. Chub and Ide all up in the water about 18". On caster, maggot (red) or worm on a size 18 hook. Fished tight to the island and loose feed of chopped worm and caster. Some groundbait in a small cup.
Pond D (Open Match) Saturday 21/02/09
Very slow start with just a few odd tiddlers showing at first. The breeze stiffened from the SW which made it rather chilly for those with head on pegs . The aerators have been switched off until the next bout of icy conditions but this was still not enough to put fish on the hooks of some anglers.
